MUCH MORE THAN A BOOK
why Bible translation?
The Bible is one of the oldest and most popular books of all time. But is it just a book, or is it much more?
Like you, we believe that the Bible is God’s Word to us — something that everyone should be able to understand for themselves. Bible translation is critical for real transformation: When people encounter Jesus through Scripture in their own language, lives often change in amazing ways!
That’s why Wycliffe Bible Translators USA exists: to work with churches, communities and partner organizations until everyone can access God's Word in a language that touches their hearts. We'll keep on working so all people — speaking or signing more than 7,000 languages worldwide — can have the Bible in the formats and languages that serve them best.
OUR VISION

SERVING AS A CATALYST
how we work
Wycliffe humbly serves as a catalyst for church-led Bible translation.
God is on the move in ways that we’ve never seen before in the history of the world! Today we’re witnessing an exponential acceleration as churches and communities engage the last remaining languages that need access to God's Word. Seeds planted in communities worldwide over many decades have taken root and grown into an abundant harvest.
Translation has a generational impact, and people whose lives were first touched by the Good News in their own language are now working to bring it to other communities. Local churches are now leading their own translations and together we can come alongside their efforts.
