All around the world God is calling people to Himself in amazing and unexpected ways — people like Arjun in South Asia.

Arjun kept all the rules of the major world religion widely practiced in his area. He believed it was the only way to win his god’s favor. At least that’s what he learned growing up in his community.

Still, Arjun didn’t feel close to his god; it was like something was missing. Then one day while visiting another country, Arjun was approached by a stranger. The man began talking about Jesus and sharing the gospel — the Good News that Arjun had been longing to hear. Arjun’s heart was touched by the wonderful news the man shared from the Bible.

“That day I realized that I am a sinner,” he said, “and I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior.”

Arjun returned home with a hunger to learn more about Jesus and His free gift of new life. He immediately joined a church, but Arjun struggled in his walk with the Lord because he didn’t have biblical guidance in his language.

That’s why Bible translation is vital: so that believers like Arjun can experience the fullness of new life in Christ and share it confidently with others.

Thank you for your faithful support that is helping accelerate the essential work of Bible translation in Arjun’s South Asian community and around the world. As a result, Arjun is now able to listen to Scripture in his language! “Listening to the Bible in my own language … gave me a lot of happiness,” he said. “I praise God for His grace to my people.”

The team in Arjun’s community is working hard to complete the New Testament in his language and 11 other similar languages in South Asia. The team is nearly complete with the Gospels, Romans and 1 and 2 Corinthians in audio format. We rejoice with these communities over their progress and ask God to equip the team as they work to translate Scripture so that people can encounter His love for them personally.
