God’s Word is powerful.

When Scripture is in a language and format that people clearly understand, it changes their lives — just like Ashnatee in Ghana.

Not long ago, Ashnatee considered a python to be her trusted source of spiritual power. She met regularly with a group of women to seek guidance and help from the snake. The people of Ashnatee’s village noticed that she was held in the grip of something powerful. She spent hours worshipping the python — even though it took her away from time with her children.

Then one day, someone invited Ashnatee to a church service where she heard the Bible in her own language. The words became seeds that began to grow and change her heart as the Holy Spirit worked in her life. She continued attending church services, abandoning her previous beliefs.

The other ladies in her group were terrified. They thought Ashnatee would be struck dead by the power of the snake. So they waited and watched Ashnatee for a month, and then six months and then a year. But Ashnatee had found a new life and greater power in Jesus. Today many in her village have experienced the life-changing power of Jesus Christ through Scripture in their language.

Lives are being transformed around the world as people encounter God’s power through His Word. Local churches and organizations are rising up to take leadership of Bible translation and reach people with the Good News of Jesus. More and more local people are asking us to partner with them to help them get God’s Word!
