Thousands of refugees and migrants from all over the world are now living in the US, many moving into large urban centers like New York City and Los Angeles. Many have fled dangerous situations and/or fear of persecution in their home country. Many of these people are from unreached people groups, and some still don’t have the Bible in their language. Ron and Debbie have a home base in the Los Angeles area, and have friends, family and contacts in the New York/New Jersey area, as well.

Ron is part of the Global Diaspora Team with SIL International working in the United States and focusing on these two metropolitan areas. Ron is involved in researching the situation in these places to identify minority language groups, to find out who might be doing ministry there, and to connect with mother tongue speakers to see who we could partner with to promote further translation work and engagement with the Scriptures already translated.

Ron and Debbie have been with Wycliffe since 1982, serving in Peru with the North Junín Quechua people, with Youth Recruitment in the States, and for the last seven years with the Roma Service Group in Eastern Europe.
