The Scacewaters were drawn to Wycliffe because of their love for Christ and his call to reach all the nations through evangelism and discipleship. They believe in the Wycliffe mission because access to the Scriptures in a language people understand best is pivotal for fulfilling the Great Commission, especially for effective, ongoing discipleship in local churches.

Todd received a PhD in biblical interpretation and is passionate about equipping others to understand God's word, especially before they begin translating it. He teaches and trains aspiring Bible translation workers at Dallas International University, equipping them to go into all parts of the world to help translate the Bible for those still needing it in their own languages. He aims to provide the highest quality academic training in order to make the process of teaching, interpreting, and translating God's Word for other people groups as efficient and excellent as possible.
