David is thrilled to be able to use his love of linguistics to advance the work of Bible translation. He will be working as a Grammar Developer with The Bible Translator’s Assistant project. This is a software system that speeds up the Bible translation process by producing a rough draft of Scripture in a target language which can then be revised for clarity and naturalness. This means that communities can obtain the Bible in their heart languages years sooner than they would with traditional translation methods.

Having earned his MA in Applied Linguistics from Old Dominion University in 2016, David can’t wait to use his skills and passions to make a difference for the Kingdom. Who knew you could support Bible translation by being a grammar geek for God!
