Joshua & Julie Sanner

Josh was trained as a counselor at Dallas Theological Seminary where he served as a student counselor intern at the Wycliffe counseling center in Dallas. Since receiving his masters, Josh and his wife Julie have joined Wycliffe fulltime and he looks forward to continuing to minister to Wycliffe’s missionaries at home and abroad, from the JAARS training center in NC.

During their time of service in Alaska, Josh and Julie have seen some of the challenges that many missionaries face, from cross-cultural transition, depression and anxiety, to marital strain, interpersonal conflicts and trauma. Through counseling, Josh helps to equip Wycliffe’s members for the challenges that may present on their assignments, as well as walks alongside those in need of encouragement and healing. Counseling has an important role in the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of missionaries, contributing to flourishing and longevity in the work of bringing the word of God and the power of the gospel to yet unreached peoples.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its missionaries to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts missionaries’ ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the missionaries receive as “take-home pay” for their daily living expenses.

Launch Expense Account

Wycliffe establishes the Launch Expense Account for setup needs beyond recurring ministry and living expenses.

Examples of what these funds cover are training and orientation courses, airfare, visas, immunizations, language learning, work permits, house setup, vehicle, equipment purchases, shipping, etc.
