Catherine and Phil Leckrone have been with SIL Global since 1994. Their first 14 years of service were in Guatemala where Phil provided computer support for Bible translation teams in Guatemala and other parts of Latin America. He also did page layout for Bibles, New Testaments, and other large documents. Catherine took care of their three sons and in their last several years did educational therapy at the Christian Academy of Guatemala. She also coordinated housing for translation teams coming into the city.

 

When the SIL office in Guatemala closed in 2009 the Leckrones, along with their three sons, moved to Waxhaw, North Carolina.

 

From the JAARS Base in Waxhaw, Phil continues to provide computer support, Scripture layout, and coordination of language technology for the Americas Area of SIL Global. He also trains Spanish speaking technology specialists to serve teams throughout Latin America.

 

Catherine is serving with the Training Department at JAARS, providing logistical support for training events and assistance in preparing new missionaries to work effectively in multi-cultural/multi-generational teams.
