Alex and Megan serve in Dallas, Texas from the headquarters of SIL, Wycliffe’s premier partner in applied linguistics and field work. Their vision is to see people thriving in their communities using the languages that mean the most to them.

Megan’s team, based in Kenya and South Africa, implements programs around the world that help minority language communities meet their education and development goals while also maintaining their unique language and identity. Megan researches local communities to prepare for literacy programs in new languages, studies how education in minority languages affects how students learn, and examines how people use SIL-made software to help the development teams improve it.

Alex’s new team makes technology solutions that enable innovation and collaboration across SIL and its partners. He incorporates human factors to design software, so people around the world can use their languages for the parts of life that matter most to them; especially knowing God in the person of Jesus through the Bible.

Alex and Megan met through SIL in 2010 while serving in Cameroon, west Africa. When Megan’s not doing research, she loves finding new kinds of fruit at the grocery store. Her latest favorite is cotton candy grapes. In his free time, Alex enjoys filling his house with plants. He adores his pothos plants for their luscious, tumbling locks, but has a love-hate relationship with his fiddle-leaf fig.
