Peter and Megan Gardner joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 2018, and since 2019 have been serving in South Africa. Peter is the communications coordinator of the Advocacy and Alliance Building department, a literacy team which has projects across Africa, helping create primary school curriculum in minority languages. As Bibles are being translated into these languages, previously illiterate children and adults are getting ready to read it! Megan's primary role is caring for their four young kids, one of whom has special needs.

 

God has been preparing Peter and Megan for missions from a young age. Peter grew up in the Pacific Northwest and also Taiwan, where his family served at a missionary school. Peter studied at Multnomah Bible College and Whitworth University. Megan grew up in in Niger, where her parents served with SIM, and also in Alberta, Canada. She studied at Westminster Choir College in New Jersey, before meeting Peter (on eHarmony!) and moving to Washington state. Peter and Megan were married in 2012 and made their home in Auburn, Washington, where they had their first three children, and Peter taught elementary school in the extremely diverse Kent School District. They are members of a church in Kent, Washington.

 

Peter and Megan are thankful for the privilege of being part of the global missions movement, and wherever they are, they seek to worship God and love their neighbor. They are grateful to Jesus Christ for what he has done in their lives, and they love to see what he is doing in the lives of others. They love serving the local church through worship music, teaching kids, and hosting Bible studies.
