The Wycliffe Ministry of

Pat & Sigrid (Ziggy) Lew

https://www.wycliffe.org/partner/pzlew
Hailing from Southern California, the son of Chinese immigrants, Pat was called to serve with Wycliffe in Mainland SE Asia after working as a chemical engineer. There he met and married Ziggy from North Germany, a phonology and phonetics specialist, and fellow Wycliffe member. They served in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 2001 to the summer of 2020 before relocating to Dallas, TX to be closer to their two daughters who are in college in the US.

Pat was the project leader and an exegetical reviewer on the team that translated the New Testament into Northern Thai, published in 2017. He is now working remotely as a translation consultant for translation projects in Mainland SE Asia and as a publishing specialist for typesetting Scripture.

Ziggy is a linguistics consultant for sound analysis and orthography design for unwritten languages in SE Asia and is also be an instructor at Dallas International University which offers programs to train prospective Bible translators and literacy workers.

As the body of Christ has many parts, each of which is vital, so the ministry of Bible translation has many parts requiring people in different vital roles. We invite you to take part in their Wycliffe ministry as a prayer or financial partner.

Other Ways to Partner
Wycliffe Ministry Budget
Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its missionaries to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts missionaries’ ability to begin and remain in their assignment. This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the missionaries receive as “take-home pay” for their daily living expenses.
