The Pophams worked for a number of years in a variety of positions and organizations before joining the JAARS ministry team. The experience gained in these positions along with other life experiences helped prepare them for the ministry they now do in support of Bible translation and Scripture engagement. Randy and Gin agreed to serve with JAARS in 2010 through another sending organization and in July 2017, they became members of Wycliffe Bible Translators. They continue to serve in their assignments with JAARS.

Randy and Gin have two grown children and six wonderful grandchildren. Randy currently serves as ‘Special Projects Coordinator’ in Partnership Ministries. His main areas of focus are being database “super-user” and assisting in the foundations/grants area. Gin is in Partner Relations for the North Central States and connects with JAARS prayer and financial partners investing in Bible translation. They serve internationally from their home in eastern Iowa.

JAARS vision is to see people’s lives and communities transformed by experiencing God’s Word in their own language. Their mission is to make Bible translation and language development possible, especially in the most remote and difficult places on earth.
