With over 500 languages, Nigeria is home to millions of people who have no Scripture in their language. Steve and Sonia have been serving in Nigeria since 1991, equipping Nigerians to be engaged in Bible translation and language development.

Steve serves as a linguistics consultant, researching and writing about Nigerian languages. Steve loves promoting clear and natural translations of Scripture! Sonia serves as administrative assistant to the SIL Nigeria Director. Sonia loves keeping things organized and running smoothly!

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its missionaries to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts missionaries’ ability to begin and remain in their assignment. This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the missionaries receive as “take-home pay” for their daily living expenses.
