Translating the Gospel of John orally for use on audio devices
We’re partnering with local teams to translate Scripture into the Kadung and Bade languages!
Previous efforts produced the Gospel of Luke and the “JESUS” film for the Bade community. But for the Kadung, this project will provide the first Scripture ever!
Both groups have an oral culture in which the spoken word is highly valued. Many don’t read or write their language. To make God’s Word accessible in this context, the teams will translate the Gospel of John orally for use on audio devices.
During this two-year project, the team will use cutting-edge software called Render, which guides oral communicators in producing oral Scripture in their language.
“The goal of this project is to introduce people to Jesus as the Son of God,” a team adviser said, “[so] he can bring life transformation through God's love.”
Your prayers and gifts will help make the Gospel of John available to the people of this cluster, in a language and form that speaks to their hearts!
Funds in excess of the current need will be applied to a similar project or to future needs within the same project.
