Although traditional religion is prevalent, a significant number of people in the Taraba Cluster identify as Christians. But for most of them, Scripture is only available in majority languages that they don’t understand well.
“The Christians are very vulnerable to all manner of false teachings,” a project adviser said. “God’s Word is needed in the languages these people groups understand best so that their lives will be transformed, and they can grow stronger and steadfast in their faith.”
In this three-year project, team members will produce more of God’s Word in Kambu, as well as the very first Scripture in Mashi, Wannu and Yamba.
Each team will complete 10 New Testament books — Matthew, Mark, Luke, Acts, Galatians, Ephesians, 1-2 Timothy, Titus and James. The book of Jonah and six foundational stories from Genesis will be translated as well.
“Our churches are eagerly waiting for the Bible to be translated into our languages!” a local church leader said.
Your prayers and gifts will help people in the Taraba Cluster access God’s Word in a language that speaks to their hearts!
Funds in excess of the current need will be applied to a similar project or to future needs within the same project.
