Téké Southwest 2

Making key New Testament books available

Téké Southwest 2

Project Description

“Translated Scripture will communicate the power and reality of Jesus,” a Teke Southwest project coordinator said. “It will cause people to abandon traditional religious practices more and more.”

The community currently has access to the Gospel of Mark and portions of the Old Testament. In this three-year project, team members aim to make a dozen more books available.

A committee made up of representatives from local churches has chosen Acts, Philippians and James to be translated next. Other key New Testament books, including the Gospel of John, Hebrews and Revelation, will follow.

Completed Scripture will be produced in audio format and distributed on SD cards. The recordings will be used by a growing number of listening groups that have started meeting in the area.

In addition to audio, printed materials in their own language will provide Teke Southwest speakers with a greater sense of value and esteem.

The resources produced in this project will also better equip local Christians to share the gospel message with others.

Your prayers and gifts will help Teke Southwest people access more of the New Testament in a language and form that speaks to their hearts!

Funds in excess of the current need will be applied to a similar project or to future needs within the same project.
