Reaching the people of Madagascar with God’s Word

Zoara Fanantenana

Project Description

In the heart of Madagascar’s capital city, a local church has taken seriously Jesus’ command to make disciples.

But as the members of the Church of Jesus Christ in Madagascar Ambohipo have shared God’s Word, they’ve noticed that using Scripture in the country’s official language isn’t ideal. People in Madagascar speak a variety of unique languages, yet most of these languages lack an available Bible translation.

Wanting every person in Madagascar to have God’s Word in their own language, the church partnered with local communities to recruit volunteers and initiate translation work among four people groups.

Now more experienced Bible translation staff are coming alongside the church, providing the technical support needed to see the New Testament completed and published in these four languages. Moreover, some of the national translators will be trained to serve as consultants for future translation efforts.

Your prayers and gifts will help pave the way for all people in Madagascar to have access to the life-giving words of Scripture!

Funds in excess of the current need will be applied to a similar project or to future needs within the same project.
