“We were in darkness for many years,” said Lydia.
Lydia and her husband, Roman, lived very simply in the same small home in South Asia where they had raised their three children. Like most people in their community, they worshiped idols every day.
“We didn’t know about Jesus,” Roman said.
But Lydia and Roman’s lives changed forever the day they encountered God’s Word in a language they clearly understood.
A pastor named Paul arrived in the couple’s South Asian community with Scripture that had been translated in their language. “The pastor shared about Jesus and His sacrificial work for my sins,” Roman said. He asked the pastor many questions about Scripture. “But he cleared up all my doubts, and then I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior.”
“I praise God for translating [His] Word into our language,” said Lydia.
Today you can be a part of providing more of God’s Word for Lydia and Roman — along with many others in their language community in South Asia — who want to know more about God and eagerly await additional Scripture in their language.
