Reaching the Thai Deaf With God’s Word
Access to Scripture in Thai Sign Language can change lives forever.

Less than 0.1 percent of Thai Deaf are Christians. Those who are Christian don’t have access to God’s Word in sign language, so they’re not able to fully understand who God is, or the gift of salvation he extends to them through Jesus Christ.

The Thai Sign Language team is currently working to research the differences between sign languages used across Thailand by testing Bible stories they’ve translated to see how well people understand them. These stories are used in Bible studies and Deaf churches to promote the use and understanding of Thai Sign Language by the Deaf community. As they work on raising awareness of the needs of the Deaf community, the team is also trying to help the Deaf learn how to read written Thai, the national language. This will allow them to begin to understand some Scripture, though it won’t be in the language that speaks directly to their hearts.
- As the Thai Sign Language team continues to research how well people understand Bible stories in various sign languages used across Thailand, pray that God would direct them and help them discern what steps need to be taken next in the translation process.

- Ask God to use the team to help spread his love and the message of salvation through these Bible stories so that more Deaf can understand who he is and the hope that is found through his Word.
- Pray that the Deaf would desire a translation into Thai Sign Language and partner with the team in their work.
