God is on the move in ways that we have never seen before in the history of Bible translation! One of the ways He’s working is by raising up a host of local churches who are taking responsibility for Bible translation in their communities.
In Papua New Guinea, a church invited people from the area to participate in a community check — a part of the Bible translation process where language speakers help ensure the accuracy of the translation. There was such a large turnout that the church had to put up loudspeakers outside so everyone could participate!
As translated Scripture was read aloud, the elders of the community took the lead in ensuring that the most accurate words were used to capture the deepest meaning of God’s Word. Those listening were able to clearly understand the message of God lovingly pursuing each of them. In the process, some became followers of Jesus Christ while others deepened their faith.
This past year, the Holy Spirit has moved in new and exciting ways to empower Bible translation work in Papua New Guinea and around the world.
Yet millions of people are still waiting for even one verse of Scripture in their language. But God is calling local church partners to bring His Word — and the hope of the gospel — to people globally. These partners are actively responding to God, and they’re asking for our help to fulfill that call.
Your continued support is a vital part of the worldwide Bible translation movement. Please prayerfully respond today to help us keep pace with these new, God-given opportunities. Your gift will help more people know Jesus Christ as they engage with God’s Word in a language they clearly understand.
Thank you for being part of this historic and life-changing movement of God around the world!
