Help Translate God’s Word for the Konkomba Language Community

Konkomba Christians make a regular practice of visiting rural communities in their region. There, they walk from house to house, sharing the Good News. But their message is rarely appreciated.

The Christians often find that the rural residents are deeply rooted in the traditional religion of the area. Upon hearing about Christianity, they object, saying it’s a religion for other cultures — not theirs. 

When believers graciously respond to this objection, they face further pushback. “If God is the God of the Konkomba, then why is His Book written in the language of other peoples?”

This fact also confuses many Konkomba Christians. After all, the Bible is not available in their language. But God does speak Konkomba!

And in light of this truth, local believers are now working together to translate their first portions of Scripture.

You can help Konkomba speakers produce the first portions of God’s Word in their language! In this three-year project, they will complete eight New Testament books: Luke, 1-2 Thessalonians, 1-2 Timothy and 1-3 John. These books will be published in print, audio and digital formats.
